Put Ringtones On A Verizon Phone

Add ringtones to set your Verizon phone apart from everyone else.

Cellphone ring tones are a way to show your individuality, give special people on your contact list their own ring tone to identify them when they call, or just so you know it's your phone ringing and not someone else's nearby. Ring tones can be expensive, and while all cellphone providers including Verizon have a large selection of them for purchase, you may not find the one you are looking for. You can put your own ringtones on your Verizon phone with music files and an email address.

Instructions

1. Find and save any music files or ring tones that you want to add to your Verizon phone. You can use a free audio editing software program such as Audacity or Power Sound editor to create your own ring tones and save the file to your computer, or simply use an existing music or sound file you already have.

2. Access your email account on the computer with the saved sound files. Compose a new email, and type in your cell phone number as the recipient. Use numbers only, no dashes, spaces or hyphens. You must add @vzwpix.com to the phone number to send the file as a picture message. The number should appear as "1234567890@vzwpix.com" in the email recipient box.

3. Attach the file you wish to use as a ring tone to the email and send. Wait a few minutes for the phone to receive the message.

4. Open the message on the cellphone. Select "Options" on your cellphone screen, then scroll down to "Save As Ringtone." Save the file to your phone. The file now will appear on your list of ring tones, and you can access it to set it as your default tone, or assign it to a contact from your list.
