Make Ringtones For A Nokia 5310

Any music you like can be your ring tone

In this brief article, you will learn make custom ring tones for the Nokia 5310 cellphone. Although the process is relatively easy, it is not covered in the phone's user manual and can be time consuming to uncover by trial-and-error. So, let's take the guesswork out...

Instructions

Working with MP3 Files

1. Find a Suitable MP3 File

You can chose any MP3 file you like as your ring tone.

2. Save the File on Your Nokia 5310

Since your phone is connected to the Internet, you can download any MP3 file you like from the world wide web. If the file you wish to use as the ring tone is stored on your computer, you can use the Nokia PC Suite application to transfer such files to your phone (please refer to page 29 on the phone's user guide, linked below, for this operation). When you are finished with this operation, the MP3 file should be saved on your phone's memory card.

3. Set the MP3 File as Your Ringtone

This is where most people stumble, because the process is not detailed in the phone's user guide and can only be discovered by calling the T-Mobile Customer Service (dial 611 from your phone if you need to reach them).

Press "Menu"

Go to "Settings"

In the Settings menu, click on "Tones"

Now, click on "Ring Tones"

In the Ring Tones menu, click on "Change"

You will be given multiple options, select "Memory Card"

Find the MP3 file you need and click on it

Now select "Change"

Go to "Options" and click on "Save"

Congratulations, your favorite music, or your dog's bark, is now your ring tone. Have a friend call you to check it out, and enjoy.
