Unlock The Nokia 6030b Rm225

If you are looking to prevent pocket-dialing or battery drain on your Nokia 6030B phone, you can lock your keypad. However, if you've lost your manual or forgotten unlock the phone, you won't be able to do much more than answer an incoming call. Unlocking your phone can also refer to unlocking your phone for a SIM card from another service provider. This can be especially useful for traveling overseas and avoiding extra fees and charges.

Instructions

Unlocking the Phone

1. Press any button on your phone. This is to verify that your phone is actually locked, not dead or malfunctioning.

2. Use the combination of "menu", "<" and "*" to unlock your phone. You must press all three of these buttons -- in this order -- within 1.5 seconds to unlock your phone.

3. If you have set your own security code for locking and unlocking the phone, enter these digits instead of "menu", "<" and "*".

Unlocking the SIM Card

4. Access your International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number in one of two ways. Either enter "*#06#" into your phone to see the IMEI or remove the battery and look for the 15 or 17-digit code underneath it.

5. Call your service provider and ask for the unlock code. They may or may not be willing to provide you with this information, as you will not be using their service once it is unlocked.

6. If the service provider will not provide you with the code, there are a variety of companies who you can pay to access your unlock code. Do research and select a company you feel comfortable working with.

7. Enter this code into your phone and follow any other directions provided by your phone provider or unlocking company.

8. Insert your new SIM card and your phone is ready to use. Make sure you know the terms of service of your new phone carrier and your old phone carrier, just in case you want to switch back.
