Upgrade Blackberry 8830 Software

All BlackBerry phones come with pre-installed software which contains several useful applications. To keep customers happy, Research In Motion regularly comes out with software upgrades for their BlackBerry phones. Each upgrade comes with improvements to current applications and occasionally have entirely new features. Best of all, each software upgrade is completely free to the BlackBerry users. The only requirement for an upgrade is a computer with an Internet connection.


Instructions


1. Connect the BlackBerry to the computer with the phone's USB cord. The computer should automatically detect the phone.


2. Open the Internet Explorer web browser and go to the BlackBerry software update page listed in the Resources section of this article. You must use Internet Explorer to get the update.


3. Click the "Update" button at the bottom of the software update page. A download will automatically begin. If prompted to install BlackBerry software to the computer, follow the on-screen prompts to finish the process.


4. Click "Run" when the download completes. A series of on-screen prompts will guide you through the rest of the installation.


5. Unplug the phone from the computer once the update is complete.
