Unlock Phones With A Sheffield Dm3 Box

If you want to unlock a Nokia, BlackBerry or LG phone, you can pay an online service for an unlock code. But that takes as long as a week to receive by email, and the process will often void your warranty. The Sheffield Co. has created a device called a DM3 box, however, that doesn't require any code to be entered and completes the job in seconds. The company has service outlets across the globe, centered on the United Kingdom, but just one location so far in the United States. (It's seeking American satellites, though, if you want to get your hands on your own DM3.)

Instructions

1. Turn on your phone and remove the back cover and battery.

2. Slide the SIM card out of its slot.

3. Snap the DM3's (model-specific) battery box adapter to the battery compartment.

4. Plug the DM3's adapter cable that runs from the device to the adapter you've snapped into your phone.

5. Press the green "Unlock" button and wait a few seconds for the phone to unlock.

6. Turn the phone off, slide in a new SIM card, return the battery and back cover, then power on with an unlocked phone.
