Set Up Picture Messaging

Picture messaging can be a very convenient tool to have. As most current phones include cameras, most carriers give you the option of electronically taking and sending photos in the same manner as a text message. The process is similar to sending a text, although depending on the phone and carrier, things can be changed around a bit.

Instructions

Finding photos to send

1. Most phones have a main menu icon (often titled 'photos') which allows you to view the photos on your phone. Find this option.

2. Determine how the photos can be transferred and arranged. Some phones have memory slots (often referred to as 'SD slot') which allows media to be transferred from an SD card onto the phone.

3. If the phone supports it, photos can also be received via email. Once downloaded, the photos should automatically be sent to the appropriate category (IE. photos). In some cases, you are given the options of choosing where to store them.

4. Phones that have built-in cameras can take pictures and send them electronically via email or text. Once taken, these photos usually go to the appropriate category.

Sending the photos electronically

5. Outside of using the web browser, picture messaging is the most common way of transferring pictures. This option is usually titled "picture messaging." Find this option.

6. For some carriers, you must activate picture messaging before you can receive pictures. You generally activate picture messaging by using your phone to send a picture to yourself. Use your own phone number when sending the file.

7. Once you have received the picture, it should display just as it did when you sent it. If you have received it, you are done. Picture messaging is set up. Use this process to send pictures to anyone.
