Remove My Number Off An Old Nokia 5165 Phone

Remove your old phone number from a Nokia 5165 through the menus.

Sometimes you need to remove the old number from a phone that isn't activated. While the phone can no longer send or receive calls if it is not active on your account, the phone number is still in the handset. This can be a security risk if you want to sell the phone to someone else. You can use a special programming menu to access the phone number settings in the Nokia 5165 and change them.

Instructions

1. Dial *3001#12345# from the main screen on the phone and hit the "Send" button on the keypad. This will bring you to the programming menu, where you will see NAM1 and NAM2 listed.

2. Scroll down to NAM1 and click the "Navi" button under the center of the screen. The screen will show your phone number.

3. Use the "Clear" key to erase the number and change it to all zeros. Click the "Navi" button to exit. Do the same for NAM2.

4. Press the "Clear" key, and the phone will reset itself. The phone number is now removed.
