Activate Gprs Settings For Alcatel

Alcatel has manufactured a number of GSM and CDMA cell phones, some of which support GPRS Internet access. GPRS is a network-provided feature. To activate it on your handset, you have to contact your cellular network provider. The activation is free, although you will be charged according to your data plan once you start using it.

Instructions

1. Contact your network provider via your cellphone.

2. Tell the representative to activate GPRS service on your account. You will have to provide your account information.

3. Ask the representative for the exact network settings. Jot them down or ask the representative if the settings are available online on the company's website (for instance, see T-Mobile's GPRS settings in the link in Resources below).

4. Select "WAP menu" on your Alcatel phone.

5. Press "OK."

6. Select "Profile" > "OK."

7. Choose "Profiles List" > "OK."

8. Select "Create New."

9. Enter these settings as advised by your network carrier. You will have to enter values for profile name, homepage, IP address, security, bearer choice, GPRS parameters, authentication, username, password and APN.

10. Press "OK" to save the settings and access the Internet on your Alcatel phone's web browser.
