A cell phone theme can help you make a statement to those who see you and your phone. It can be a small window into who you are. You can make your own cell phone theme. All it takes is a few pictures that show off who you are, what your tastes are or the ones you love. Throw in a website with the right tools, and you've got a new theme for your cell phone.
Instructions
1. Register with a website that provides a free theme-making tool. There are many sites out there, but a few of the biggest include Zedge, OwnSkin and MyFoneThemes. These sites have different pricing levels and benefits. While one will give you everything for free if you click through a few ads, another has a free version and a paid version, while another charges for all themes. This example uses a completely free account at Zedge.
2. Visit Zedge. Click in the tool bar, then on the "theme maker" tab below it, on the far right side of the screen. Choose your phone type. Browse for and upload an image from your computer for your wallpaper theme. If you don't already have one on your computer, search for free images online. Once you've uploaded the image, you'll see it on the live preview. Crop it to fit the screen.
3. Select the "screen saver" and "background" tabs and repeat the steps you did for your wallpaper. You'll want to create a theme that flows together, so choose similar images, but not the same image for the screen saver and background. Again, you will be able to see the results on the live preview screen to see how it fits. Crop the image if necessary.
4. Choose the "color" tab to find a color that matches your wallpaper, screen saver and background themes. You can choose from gray, black, brown, red, orange, pink, blue and green. Go to the "ring tone" tab and pick a ring tone to go with your theme. The size limit is 1 MB and the file type must be .mid, .mp3 or .acc.
5. Review your finished product under the "download" tab. You'll be able to choose a name for your theme and make sure it looks good. Click on the "create theme" tab to finish your creation.
