Transfer My Phone Number From A Pay As You Go Phone

At some point in time while you are using your pay-as-you-go phone, you may decide to get a monthly contract plan. Choosing the right plan may mean that you must change your provider. If this is the case, then you can change your phone or provider without having to change your current phone number. Keeping your pay-as-you-go phone number will prevent you from having to call up all your contacts to give them your new number.

Instructions

1. Contact your current prepaid phone provider and inquire about changing to a monthly plan. Ask about the different options and the terms of the contract.

2. Ask your provider about transferring your current phone number from your pay-as-you-go phone. The process will vary depending on the provider.

3. Pay off your phone balance. The process will be smoother if you have no previous balance, which will hold up the transfer process.

4. Wait for your provider's decision or for the process to become complete. Call your provider if you have not heard anything within 48 hours.
