A Windows "theme" is a term used to describe the overall appearance of your operating system. This includes the color scheme of your program windows, desktop wallpaper and screen saver. If you want to design your own Windows theme, you can do so using tools native to the Windows operating system. This allows you to truly personalize your computer and make it your own.
Instructions
1. Right-click on your desktop.
2. Click "Personalize."
3. Click "Unsaved Theme" in the "My Themes" portion of the window.
4. Click "Desktop Background" and select an image from your hard drive to use as the desktop background for your custom theme. Once finished, you will be returned to the previous window.
5. Click "Window Color" to select colors for the program windows of your custom theme. Once finished, you will be returned to the previous window.
6. Click "Sounds" to select a sound layout for your custom Windows theme. You can choose between sound files that you have on your computer and sound files already available in Windows. Once finished, you will be returned to the previous window.
7. Click "Screen Saver" to select a screen saver for your custom Windows theme. Once finished, you will be returned to the previous window.
8. Click "Save Theme" in the "My Themes" window. Type a name for your theme and click "Save" to finish creating your custom theme for the Windows operating system.
