Format A Nokia 6630

Be sure to back up your data prior to formatting.

If you are preparing to sell your Nokia 6630 or if you are experiencing difficulties with your phone, you may want to format and restore it to its original factory settings. Formatting the phone will erase all stored data and will return it to state it was in when purchased. The Nokia 6630 is a part of the Nokia S60 line of cell phones , all of which are formatted by entering a special code, rather than accessing a setting from within the phone's settings menu.

Instructions

1. Back up all data saved to the phone that you do not want to lose. Once the phone is formatted, all data will be erased. For information on sync your contacts, pictures, videos and other files, see the Nokia 6630 user's manual.

2. Turn on the phone and allow it to load to the idle screen. The idle screen is the main screen displayed on the phone; it displays the battery life, carrier, time and signal strength.

3. Enter "*#7370#" (without quotes) on the keypad. An easy way to remember this code is "737" spells "RES," short for reset.

4. Enter the security code and press "OK" to begin the format. The default security code set by the factory is "1234"; however, if you changed the code, you will need to enter the new security code.
