Get Free Gps Maps

Adding free GPS maps to your device is a snap.

Global Positioning System or GPS devices allow you to navigate in unfamiliar territory or to keep track of people or vehicles. If you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a GPS system, there are software programs you can use that provide GPS maps for free. Although they may not have as many details or the level of functionality of the systems available for purchase, they still get the job done.

Instructions

1. Choose a website that provides maps for GPS devices. A few that you can use are AmazeGPS.com, EasyGPS.com and TravelByGPS.com.

2. Download the free GPS maps and save them to your desktop.

3. Connect your GPS device to your PC using a compatible USB data cable. Wait for your PC's operating system to find your GPS device. Go to "Computer" and look under "Removable Drives." You will find an icon for your GPS device.

4. Drag the map files from your desktop to the GPS icon. Disconnect the GPS device from your PC. You now have new free GPS maps.
