Record Phone Calls With Google Voice

According to the FCC, questions related to intrastate phone conversations should be directed to your state public service commission, which can be found at www.naruc.org.

According to the Federal Communications Commission, most phone conversations may not be recorded unless the recording is preceded by verbal or written notification that the phone call is being recorded and the parties consent to such recording. This federal regulation applies to interstate phone calls only, so you should check with your state to find out if additional state laws need to be followed before you decide to record a phone conversation.

Instructions

1. Sign up for Google Voice. When you sign up for Google Voice, you will get a new phone number. You will also be prompted to enter your forwarding number (which can be your home landline number, cell phone number, work phone number, etc.). This will allow you to receive phone calls to your desired forwarding phone number whenever someone tries to call you on your Google Voice phone number.

2. Pick up the phone and press 4 when someone calls your Google Voice phone number. This will prompt an automated notification that the phone call is being recorded.

3. Press 4 to stop the recording.

4. Access your recordings from your Google Voice account.
