Use the composer tool to create your own ring tones on the Nokia 1600.
The Nokia 1600 is a basic mobile phone with easy call and messaging capabilities on both prepaid and contract accounts. The Nokia 1600 is preprogrammed with several default ring and message tones. It also allows users to purchase ring tones and wallpaper from the provider's media store, such as AT&T's Media Mall. The cell phone has a built in composer that allows you to create and save your own musical ring tone.
Instructions
1. Select "Menu." The "Menu" key is the phone's left-center soft key.
2. Use the center navigation buttons to scroll down and highlight "Extras." Press the "OK" key to select. The "OK" key is the right soft key under the phone's display screen.
3. Scroll to and highlight "Composer." Press the "OK" key.
4. Learn the notes on the Nokia 1600's keypad. The numeric keys 1 to 7 correspond with a specific lettered note. The note per key guide is as follows: 1-c, 2-d, 3-e, 4-f, 5-g, 6-a and 7-b. The numeric key "8" shortens the note while "9" lengthens the note. To insert pauses between notes, press the "0" key. The "*" key increases the note's octave and the "#" key sharpens the note.
5. Press the different keys to create your customized ring tone. Play around with the different note options until you are satisfied with the sound.
6. Press the "Option" key. The "Option" key is the left soft key under the phone's display screen. From this menu, you can select "Play," "Save" and "Send." Save the ring tone to make it available for use. Press the "Exit" option in the "Option" menu to exit the composer.
