Activate your new Sprint phone online.
Sprint offers a variety of phones that stay on top of the increasing changes in technology. Sprint also boasts of being the only network offering 4G speed. When purchasing a new Sprint phone, you may want to save the time and inconvenience of having to call in to customer support to activate your new phone. Fortunately, Sprint has created an online method to activate your phone online.
Instructions
1. Access Sprint's website. If you are a new or existing Sprint owner, visit Sprint.com/activate (see the link in Resources). Input the phone number of the existing phone number on your account or the phone number of the phone you just received.
2. Sign in to "My Sprint" with your user name and password. Your user name and password was created when you registered on Sprint's website the first time. Click on "Need to register for access" if you have never registered for Sprint online access. You will need to create a user name and password, enter your email address, billing zip code, and phone number for your cell phone.
3. Once logged in, click on "Activate a new phone." Make sure your battery is fully charged. Get the original box your phone came in and look for a code that either states "DEC", "HEX" or "IMEI". Input one of those numbers based on what is requested in the activation process section. Input your email address so Sprint can email you a confirmation when the phone is activated.
4. Notate any codes or information that Sprint provides on the following webpage that you may need to program into your phone. In some cases Sprint may require you to call a toll-free number to input certain details to activate your phone.
5. Once you receive a confirmation email informing you that the phone is activated, turn the phone off, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on and attempt to make a test call.
