Make An Avi File Work In A Dvd Player

An Audio Video Interleave file (AVI) is a file type that can be easily played back on a computer, but does not transfer to DVDs. In order to burn an AVI file to DVD, the file must be converted to an ISO image file. There are many programs available that will perform this conversion. This article will describe the process using the application DeVeDe, which is easy to use and free. The ISO image must then be burned to a DVD using DVD writing software.

Instructions

Getting Started

1. Download and install DeVeDe. You can use the first link in the Resources section below to get started.

2. Run the application. From the disc type selection menu, choose "Video DVD."

3. Click the "Properties" button under the "Title" window, and enter the title name, which should be the name of the file to be converted.

4. Click "Add" under the "File" window, and select the AVI file to be converted. Then click "OK."

5. Click "Forward" and select the folder where the ISO file will be made. DeVeDe will convert the file.

Burning the DVD

6. Open the DVD writing software.

7. Choose to create a video disc.

8. Place a blank DVD in the computer's DVD drive.

9. Select the ISO file to be burned to a DVD, and select "Burn." This will burn the ISO image to the DVD, which can then be played in a DVD player.
