Convert A 3g Phone To Wifi

You cannot convert a phone with 3G capabilities to WiFi. In fact, both technologies have different purposes. 3G stands for third generation and describes the capabilities of a cellular network in the area usually characterized by faster speeds and increased data capabilities. It is for making phone calls and transferring data for mobile communication devices at speeds that are akin to a DSL connection. WiFi is used to transfer an Internet connection to computers, mobile phones and other devices, but you cannot make a cellular phone call over it. If you have a phone with 3G and WiFi capabilities, you can enable the WiFi connection to take over data services from the 3G signal to do things like surf the Internet and send email, but your phone will still use the 3G signal for phone calls and text messages.

Instructions

Enabling WiFi

1. Turn on your cell phone.

2. Locate your settings menu, and select WiFi.

3. Enable WiFi connections.

4. Allow the cell phone to find available WiFi networks.
