Make Themes for Mobile Phones
Even the simplest and most economical mobile phones today tend to feature attractive, full-color screens and the capability to display photos; many play music and videos as well. Nearly everyone has the option to enjoy a customized mobile phone theme, combining a unique background image, wallpaper, color scheme and icons. Many themes also include secondary images, sounds, animations and screen savers. You can download free or low-cost themes for your specific phone from various websites, and many also allow you to create your own personalized themes by following a few simple steps.
Instructions
1. Visit a site such as Zedge.com or OwnSkin.com using your preferred web browser.
2. Create an account if you are a first-time visitor to the site, or log in if you already have an account.
3. Choose the option to create your own mobile phone theme. The exact phrasing and location of this option will vary from site to site, but most will display it prominently and label it clearly.
4. Select your specific phone by entering the manufacturer and name or model number. Or you may choose your phone from a list of supported options.
5. Select a wallpaper from galleries provided by the site, or upload your own image from your computer. This is the image that will appear on your phone's default or home screen.
6. Select a background image, or upload your own. This is the image that will appear in the background as you are navigating among your icons and menus.
7. Select a screen saver animation or image, or upload your own. This is the image or animation that will appear when your phone is idle during a lengthy period of inactivity.
8. Choose or create a color scheme that will apply to your phone's icons, menus, highlighting and other features.
9. Select one or more ring tones, or upload your own, to include as part of the theme package. These will be the initial default ring tones associated with the theme, although you can easily change them at any time.
10. Save or download the completed theme. Some sites will store your completed themes for later access, while others require you to download them immediately. Once you download a theme, you can transfer it to your phone via email, USB or a Bluetooth connection, or you can upload it to a removable memory card, which you then insert in the phone. You should then be able to choose and apply the theme by following the appropriate steps for your phone. See your user's manual or startup guide for details.
