Activate A Tracfone With Different Sim Card

A TracFone is a prepaid cellular device.

The TracFone is a specialized cell phone that works on a prepaid service plan. The SIM cards used are programmed to suit the TracFone network and cannot be used on other networks, unless the device has been deactivated from the TracFone network. If you have a deactivated TracFone and wish to activate it with a SIM card from a different service provider, you need to contact your new service provider and register your TracFone.

Instructions

1. Open your TracFone's battery compartment and remove the battery from the phone. Locate the SIM card and remove the card.

2. Locate the phone's IMEI number, which is a code composed of letters and numbers. Write it down.

3. Insert your new SIM card into the SIM card compartment of the phone and reattach the battery. Turn on your phone to ensure the SIM card is inserted correctly. Since the device has already been deactivated, an unlocking code is not required.

4. Log on to your chosen network service provider's website. Click on the "New Customers" button and "Activate your Phone" to start the activation process.

5. Provide the required information when prompted, including your address, email, your phone's type and model, the IMEI code, and your credit card information for billing.

6. Select a plan and a phone number during the last phases of the registration and activation process. Click "Finish" when you are done the registration process.

7. Wait until your TracFone has been activated on the new SIM card. This can take up to an hour.
