Flash My Nokia 6500 Slide

Flash My Nokia 6500 Slide

The Nokia 6500 is a cell phone. It lets you store songs, videos, pictures and other types of media. In addition, it includes a micro USB for quick connection to your personal computer (PC), laptop or chargers. If you no longer like the provider you are on, you may want to flash your phone. Flashing your Nokia 6500 phone involves restoring it to its factory settings. This removes the software and account information from your phone, so you can activate it with another network provider.

Instructions

1. Back up information on your Nokia phone. Attach the USB cable to your Nokia phone and an available USB port on your computer. Wait for Nokia PC Suite to launch on the screen. If you do not have this software, contact your wireless provider, and ask for the free Nokia PC Suite CD-ROM disc. You will need an optical drive to install the software.

2. Click the "Backup" button. Select the data you want to save on the software, such as calendars and notes. Wait for the backup to complete.

3. Disconnect the USB cable. Press the "Menu" button. Press the right arrow key to go to "Settings."

4. Select "Restore Factory Settings" from the list of options. Enter your security code. This is a numerical code you created when setting up your phone.

5. Press "OK." The flashing process will begin. Your Nokia phone will restart itself after the process completes.
