The Swiss company Garmin produces the Garmin automotive navigation system. Like its contemporaries in the GPS field, Garmin's automotive navigation systems offers real time traffic updates. One of the features that distinguishes Garmin traffic updates from the others is that some of their devices offer this service for free. The catch is that this service is supported by popup ads, causing many users to wish to disable it.
Instructions
1. Go to your Garmin's Main Menu.
2. Choose Settings.
3. Press the down arrow in the right hand corner.
4. Choose "Traffic."
5. Touch "Enable Traffic." If the check box does not have a check in it, you've successfully disabled your traffic updates.
