Use My Video Chat On My Nokia 5230

Video sharing on the Nokia 5230 allows you to send live video or video clips from your phone to another phone while connected to a voice call. The phone automatically accesses the speakerphone feature while in the video-sharing feature unless a headset is connected. To use your video-sharing feature, you must first have access to UMTS service and an established person-to-person connection with the video recipient.

Instructions

Person-to-Person Connection

1. Contact your mobile service provider and request your Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) settings for your device. Write down the settings so that you can save them into your phone.

2. Press "Menu," then "Connections" from your Nokia 5230.

3. Click the contact or create a new contact from the connections page.

4. Click "Options" and select "Edit."

5. Click "Options"; select "Add detail" then "Share video."

6. Enter the SIP settings information provided by your mobile phone provider. You will need the SIP information for your recipient to establish a connection. If you do not have the recipient's SIP information, enter his mobile phone number including his country code.

UMTS Connection

7. Contact your mobile service provider to facilitate a UMTS network connection.

8. Set up the UMTS connection on your Nokia 5230. Your service provider will be able to assist you with establishing the UMTS connection after you have established the service.

9. Disconnect your call after your settings are complete.

Sharing Your Video

10. Click "Options" on your phone while connected to a call.

11. Click "Share Video."

12. Click "Live Video." You have the option of sharing either a live video or a video clip. To end live video sharing, press "Stop."
