How Stop Skype From Highlighting Phone Numbers

How Can I Stop Skype From Highlighting Phone Numbers?

You might notice highlighted phone numbers when you browse the Internet with Internet Explorer or Firefox after you've installed Skype. During the installation of Skype, the Skype number highlighting add-on was installed on your Firefox and Internet Explorer browser unless you specified otherwise. Number highlighting can be a distraction while you browse the Internet, so you may want to disable the feature. Skype makes it simple to disable the add-on by opening your Internet browser and managing the Skype add-on.

Instructions

Disabling the Skype Add-on for Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer. Click on the "Tools" button.

2. Click "Skype add-on For Internet Explorer." The Skype add-on window will appear.

3. Click the check-box next to "Turn number highlighting on" to uncheck the option. Click "OK." Skype's number highlighting is now turned off and will remain that way unless you opt to turn it back on.

Disabling the Skype Add-on for Firefox

4. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser. Click "Tools" and select "Add-ons."

5. Click the "Extension" tab.

6. Click "Skype Extension for Firefox" and click "Disable." Click "OK" to save your settings and prevent Skype number highlighting unless you enable it.
