Upgrade The Memory Of A Nokia 3220

Released in 2005, the Nokia 3220 is an entry-level messaging phone issued by a dozen common carriers. With 16 MB of total memory, just 2 MB can be used for pictures and videos. If you need to upgrade your memory, doing so internally isn't possible, according to Nokia. However, there are a few things you can do to boost your 3220's total memory: Free up easily available space, and buy a memory card with up to 32 MB of added microSD storage if you still can't get enough.

Instructions

1. Delete files you know you don't want, whether they're old messages, bad photos or boring songs. Turn on your phone and navigate to your "Messages" folder. Select the folder with your keypad's center navigation dial, then the message you want to delete. Select "Delete messages," then "Yes." From this option, there is also a "Delete All" option in the prompt. Exercise caution with this option. Continue this process throughout your various folders, including voice mail, and excise the graft.

2. Move photos or videos you want to keep to your microSD card. Do this by turning off your Nokia 3220, opening your microSD slot and pressing down on your card with a fingernail; it should pop out. Swap it out with your extra SD card, preferably one with as much memory as possible. Go to you "File Applications" folder. Highlight the files to be transferred to microSD, then select "Organize" and "Move to folder." Select your microSD card folder.

3. From "Menu", go to "Applications," Games or Collection" and finally "Memory." This will show you how much memory you have freed up.

4. Clear your phone's cache memory to clear out even more space. Highlight "Options" from your main menu, select "Other Options" and choose "Clear the cache."
