Reset The Blackberry Curve 8310

If your BlackBerry Curve 8310 phone is malfunctioning, sometimes a reset can put it back on track. There are two types of resets. Soft resets stop all running programs to solve any errors caused by a current program. A factory reset will erase any programs, information and files that were not present when the handset left the factory. Factory resets are used when something you downloaded or installed causes the error.


Instructions


Soft Reset


1. Press the battery release button and slide the panel off the back of the phone.


2. Remove the battery from the phone's battery compartment for 10 seconds. Replace the battery back into the compartment.


3. Slide the battery panel back onto the phone.


Factory Reset


4. Click "Options" on the BlackBerry 8310's home page. Click "Security Options."


5. Click "General Settings" in the Security menu. Press the Menu key and click "Wipe Handheld."


6. Highlight the box next to "Include third-party applications" and press the space bar if you want to delete all the programs you installed to your phone from other source.


7. Read the warning that says you are about to delete all of your data from the phone. Click "Continue."


8. Enter "blackberry" when prompted to begin the device wipe.
