Replace The Housing On A Palm Treo 700w

The Palm Treo 700W is a sophisticated smart phone that is comparable to a BlackBerry. Its sleek LCD screen and internal components are protected by an outer housing. If the housing has become cracked or damaged, you can open up the unit and replace the housing. This can be done on your own and in just a few minutes time.

Instructions

1. Turn off your Treo and turn the unit over. Slide the battery door off the rear of the unit and remove the battery.

2. Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop the rubber pad underneath the antenna off and expose a screw tip.

3. Remove the screw underneath the antenna and pull the antenna off the top of the phone.

4. Remove the screws on the sides and corners of the rear of the Treo.

5. Pull the back housing off the unit to expose the main circuit board.

6. Unplug the orange ribbon cable from its port on the side of the board and remove the board and screen from the front housing.

7. Fit the board and screen into a new front housing and attach the cable. Fit the back housing over the board and replace the rear screws.
