Install A Vpn On An E71

When you are not able to connect directly to your company's Intranet locally, you will need to access information from your company's network remotely. If your company's network administrator has configured a Virtual Private Network for your organization, you can use it to securely access company data remotely. If your network administrator has given you your company's VPN settings, you can configure your Nokia E71's Symbian-base operating system to connect to your organization's VPN.

Instructions

1. Press your E71's left selection key to select the onscreen "Menu" option and enter your phone's menu interface.

2. Navigate down to the "Tools" option in the menu, using the outer edges of the E71's directional keypad. Press the center of the directional keypad to select the "Tools" option.

3. Select the "Settings" option in the "Tools" menu, using the directional keypad. Choose the "Connections" option in the "Tools" menu, and then select the "VPN" option. Select the "VPN Management" option in the "VPN" menu, and then open the "VPN Policies" menu.

4. Select the "Policy server name" option in the "VPN Policies" menu. Key in the name of your company or its policy server. Select the "Policy server address" option, and then key in the address of your company's VPN server. Choose the "Network Connection" option to specify which type of connection you'd like to establish.

5. Select "OK" to store you VPN settings.
