Boost Cell Phone Reception On A Nokia N77

Improve the reception on your Nokia N77 with an antenna.


The Nokia N77 is a smartphone that debuted in 2007. A lot of things can negatively affect cell phone reception, such as tall trees, buildings, weather and even sun spots. This can result in dropped calls or poor call quality. If you would like to improve your cell phone reception, then you can install an external or internal antenna for your Nokia N77.


Instructions


Internal Cellphone Booster


1. Buy an antenna cellphone booster. You can order one online (see Resource links) or purchase one from your nearest mobile store. A single internal antenna booster costs between $5 and $10.


2. Switch off the Nokia N77 and remove its battery. Clean the battery compartment using a dry cloth to remove any trace of dirt.


3. Remove the adhesive backing from the internal antenna booster. Attach the antenna booster to the phone underneath the battery. Be sure to attach the antenna booster in such a way that the "Side Up" section points toward the antenna of the Nokia N77. Secure the antenna in place. Press it softly so that it will stick to the phone.


4. Put back the battery in place and turn on the Nokia N77. You will see an increase of two or three bars of signal strength on the Nokia N77.


External Cellphone Antenna


5. Purchase an external antenna for your Nokia N77. You can order an external antenna at a local mobile store, or you can purchase one online (see Resource links). An external cellphone antenna can cost about $15 to $20 as of 2010.


6. Connect the antenna to the antenna hole of your Nokia N77 located at the bottom of the phone.


7. Mount the external antenna to a flat surface with an unobstructed view of the sky. Next to a window is a good a place.


8. Check the signal strength of the Nokia N77. You will see an increase of two or three bars of reception.
