Update Windows Media Player 7 1

Update your Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Player is a free software media player developed by Microsoft for playing audio and video on personal computers running Microsoft Windows. Windows Media Player 7.1 was created in 2001 to use with Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows 2000 and Windows ME. However, in January 2003, Microsoft released an update to this media player called Windows Media Player 9. By installing Windows Media Player 9 Series, Windows will automatically replace Windows Media Player 7.1 and use the newer media player configuration.

Instructions

1. Go to the Microsoft website (see Resources). Move the mouse cursor over "Downloads & Trials" on the navigation bar and click "Windows Media Player Downloads" from the drop-down menu.

2. Click the drop-down selection box under Select Version and select "Player 9 Series (for Windows 98 SE, Me, and 2000)."

3. Click the "Download Now" button when it appears on the page.

4. Click "Open or Run this program from its current location" when the download dialog box pops up. The software installation will begin immediately after the download is completed.

5. Follow the prompts for the Windows Media Player installation. Click "Next" to accept the default setup and move to the next page of the setup program. Click "Finish" on the last page.
