Make Your Blackberry Keyboard Automatically Lock

Smart Phone

An unlocked telephone keypad can lead to a variety of issues. It can make your information available to snoops. It can lead to accidental deletion of important information. It can even result in the ultra-embarrassing "pocket dial" or "butt dial." Locking the keypad on most cell phones is a simple process can be approached in a small handful of ways. In order for a Blackberry phone to lock itself automatically, a timer must be set. When the phone remains inactive for a specified amount of time, it will automatically lock the keypad.

Instructions

1. Open "Options" from the icon menu. It is represented by a wrench.

2. Scroll down and select "Security Options" from the menu.

3. Select "General Settings."

4. Select "Disabled" from the Password listing, and change it to "Enabled."

5. Select "1 min" from the Security Timeout listing, and change it to the desired amount of time for the phone to wait before it locks itself.

6. Save these settings. The phone will automatically prompt you to enter a password. This is a new password of your choosing. When prompted re-enter the password for verification. This password will be used when you wish to unlock the Blackberry.

7. Allow the Blackberry to sit untouched for the amount of time specified in the Security Timeout to ensure that it locks itself properly. The phone will now lock itself every time it is unused for the allotted time.
