Unlock A Samsung Propel

Unlock a Samsung Propel

The Samsung Propel is a cell phone offered by the carrier AT&T. Available in the colors of green, blue and red, the Propel boasts a qwerty keyboard for text messaging and a dialing pad. The 3G network is included with the Samsung Propel, allowing Internet surfing and picture messaging for users. The phone has a built-in camera, MP3 player and the option to use mobile email from the providers Yahoo, AOL and Windows Mail. A locked Samsung Propel, purchased from an individual or a carrier other than AT&T, will need to be unlocked before it can perform calls and media functions.

Instructions

1. Dial *#06# on your Samsung Propel. Hold down the "Fn" button while typing this code. The numbers in this code will type automatically without the "Fn" button; the "Fn" button is needed for the star and pound sign in the code. This will provide you with the phone's IMEI number. Write down the phone's IMEI number.

2. Call AT&T's Technical Support to receive an eight-digit code. The representative will ask for the phone's IMEI number before giving you a Subsidy Unlock Code. Write down the Subsidy Unlock Code.

3. Remove the SIM card from the Samsung Propel. The SIM slot is located underneath the larger, upper panel on the back of the Propel. Push up and slide the panel where the arrow is embossed on the panel. Replace the panel.

4. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding down the button with the red, phone-shaped icon. Slide the phone up to expose the qwerty keypad. Hold down the "Fn" key. Type in the unlock code #7465625*638*. Type in the eight-digit Subsidy Unlock Code given by AT&T and follow the code with the pound sign.

5. Verify that the phone displays a "Network Lock Deactivated" message. Reboot the phone if it does not automatically reboot. Place the SIM card into the phone.
