To access Garmin XT maps, you have to unlock the software.
Garmin XT Mobile Navigation Software is a convenient way to have a high-quality GPS device right in your mobile phone or PDA. Using Bluetooth technology, you can connect to the Garmin receiver with compatible mobile devices. You will notice, however, that the software prompts you to unlock Garmin's maps when you try to access them. Garmin installed this security feature so that maps written into the software could not be stolen. You should be able to unlock the software if you purchased it.
Instructions
1. Turn on your Garmin GPS receiver and make sure it is connected to your mobile device with Bluetooth technology. The method of activation for Bluetooth will vary, depending on your mobile device.
2. Open the Garmin Mobile XT application on your mobile device.
3. Enter the unlock code to unlock the maps if prompted to do so. The code is listed on the yellow sheet that came with the product.
4. Contact Garmin if you have misplaced or lost the unlock code. You can also manage maps with an account online.
